TATTOO
WHAT IS A TATTOO?
A tattoo is a form of body modification made by inserting tattoo ink, dyes, and/or pigments, either indelible or temporary, into the dermis layer of the skin to form a design. Tattoo artists create these designs using several tattooing processes and techniques, including hand-tapped traditional tattoos and modern tattoo machines.
CAN I GET A TATTOO UNDER THE AGE OF 18?
At Zink Modern Tattooing you may get tattooed at 16 or 17, with notarized parental consent and a parent present during your appointment. You may download our consent form here. Both parent and minor must have photo identification.

Most people who have had their brows tattooed in the past will be turned away.
Please contact us with a photo of your brows to see if we can take you as a client.
WILL IT HURT?
Yes, there can be pain ranging from mildly uncomfortable to significant depending on the location of your tattoo. We sell numbing cream at the shop if you prefer to have a less painful experience.

ARE THERE RISKS?
Tattoos breach the skin, which means that skin infections and other complications are possible, including:
ALLERGIC REACTIONS
Tattoo dyes — especially red, green, yellow and blue dyes — can cause allergic skin reactions, such as an itchy rash at the tattoo site. This can occur even years after you get the tattoo.
SKIN INFECTIONS
A skin infection is possible after tattooing.
Other skin problems. Sometimes an area of inflammation called a granuloma can form around tattoo ink. Tattooing also can lead to keloids — raised areas caused by an overgrowth of scar tissue.

WILL IT MAKE ME COOLER AND/OR MORE ATTRACTIVE?
Yes. Undoubtably, yes.
